Facile Synthesis and Characterization of Palladium@Carbon Catalyst for the Suzuki-Miyaura and Mizoroki-Heck Coupling Reactions

Palladium-based carbon catalysts (Pd/C) can be potentially applied as an efficient catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck coupling reactions. Herein, a variety of palladium on activated were prepared by varying the content ‘Pd’ via in situ reduction method, using hydrogen reducing agent. The as-prepared (0.5 wt % Pd/C, 1 2 Pd/C 3 Pd/C) characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analyses. tested reactions involving aryl halides phenyl boronic acid. optimization yielded with very high catalytic activity Suzuki cross-coupling reaction 4-bromoanisol acrylic acid aqueous medium.
